World Juggling day 2018 has not be set yet.
World Juggling Day started in 2000 and as a one day event. It has expanded over the years to a full weekend event with people arriving on the Friday evening to make the most one of the most beautiful parts of the UK. It’s the perfect excuse to catch up with old friends, make new ones and sink a sociable amount of fine ale.
There is juggling to be done, mountains to unicycle on and food to be eaten! So bring some beer, juggling balls, a BBQ and join the fun!
How much is it?
The event itself is free, but there is a small charge payable to the campsite to cover the camping, This year, the cost is £10 per person (with reduced rates for kids), per night… an absolute bargain if you ask us.
Where is it?
Rothay Park Football Ground, Ambleside, The Lake District, UK.
What are the facilities like?
The campsite is fairly basic, although there are toilets and showers available on site. There’s no site shop, but the shops aren’t too far away! We’re allowed to have BBQs on the hard standing, or on the field if they are on legs, but no cooking directly on the pitch please!
Cars and Campers are not allowed on the field itself, but there is parking by the clubhouse. Get there early for a good spot to park up!
For those of you that remember, this is the same site that we used for the Lakes Convention back in 2002
How do I get there?
Public Transport: The best option seems to be to get the train to Windermere, then a bus to Ambleside, Then armed with a printout of the Google map of Ambleside you should be able to find us. We are down a lane opposite the T junction where Wansfell Road meets Rothay Road. For local bus times etc, you may find www.traveline.org.uk useful.
Car: Ambleside is quite a large place, and if you pootle along the A591 you should find us quite easily!
If you talk to us nicely, we may even teach you to juggle!
